Windows Movie Maker is a basic video-editing program that comes standard with most versions of Microsoft Windows. It was discontinued in 2017. As a basic tool for learning to make music videos and collages, it is very helpful. Unfortunately, it is also used to edit movies at gunpoint, which causes scenes to cut, fade, or wipe in utterly ridiculous-looking ways. It is a staple of low-budget movies.
