Disrespecting the Dead is a particularly dreadful trope of Tiradesverse movies that manifests itself in multiple forms--both in the plots of the films themselves, as well as in a film's production. It happens when the death of a character or characters is trivialized or outright disrespected in one manner or another. One of the most common ways this happens is when a character will crack a really stupid joke just minutes or sometimes seconds after their friend(s) or colleague(s) died. Another manner of doing this is by way of a sudden, godawful tonal shift from a serious scene immediately to an ill-advised comedy scene--a common problem in Michael Bay movies. Yet another manifestation of this trope is making a film based around a real-life historical event that glosses over the tragedy of that event and worse, outright ignores it.
